I have been drawing with fountain pen ink, because I like the how it flows from a steel pen. And it doesn't clog up the nib the way India ink does. Problem is, the ink is not waterproof, so it becomes part of the paint as well. I am experimenting with some waterproof inks.
Higgins "Black Magic" drawing ink, which I tried out last evening (trials above), was not too bad. Doesn't have the kind of flow that lets me be as spontaneous as with fountain pen ink, but better than regular India ink. Does have an unpleasant odor.
