We went to New Orleans 3 years ago. Had a great time looking at the architecture, enjoying the food and the drink and the music. Saw Dwayne Dopsies's zydeco band play the 2 nights we were there. The band had this amazing washboard player who looked like he was in a trance when he did solos.
This trip was before Katrina. Before the FEMA trailers. Before sadness.
