An unhappy pair. I painted this many years ago and had forgotten about it, but found it while cleaning out the garage last weekend.It is possible that the mostly flat treatment and awkward relationship between objects was me subconsciously expanding on the theme. I will pick that over the more obvious explanation: that the composition/painting is just not good.
The colors remind me of a mural on the walls of El Vaquero (Mexican restaurant on Riverside Drive & Trabue).
